FOX 19 RPM

Can anyone out there tell me what rpm I should expect from an older FOX 19. This engine is like new, has a bright shine to the case, and a bolt on venturi. Using a master airscrew 8/4 it will turn about 17K and about 13K with a Top Flite power prop. Does this seem about right for the engine? Using SIG 10% nitro and 25% all castor. Thanks, Dave Markley

I run a Fox .19 stunt, the one with the 3 bolt back plate. It has a #4 (drill) venturi, an ASP .32 muffler and I use 5% nitro 25% castor.

It swings a MAS 9-4 at 9,500 on the ground and pulls my 300 Sq. In. profile plane through manuvers real nice.

An early Fox .19 turning an 8-4 at 17,000 on 10% doesn't seem possible.

Your 19 Stunt has the three hole back plate? I feel cheated! Actually, when I opened the box (old stock from the 70s) I expected to see a small version of the 35. Looked more like my C/L 25 though not polished.

Hey windsurf

I have a new Fox 19 Stunt (11900) in the box and the instructions specify 15k with a 8/4 prop and Missle Mist fuel. Claims it will run fine from 14k to 18k.

I run both the 3 bolt backplate and the 4 bolt backplate Fox 19s. I like the 3 bolt best. Taipan 9-4, about 15% to 20% nitro, Dumas Tomahawk, 52 ft lines, no landing gear. Turns about 10,000 rpm. Has a 2-4- break but really needs to be in a 2 cycle to develop adequate power.
I had a 4 bolt a while ago but it blew the rod.
