What battery does the TNC Tach use? Yeah I lost the old one and can't find the instructions.

Any standard 9V. The power draw is minimal, and I suspect they die due to the thermal cycling as much as depetion. So use the cheapest possible bargain bin batteries. The one it comes with is absurdly crummy and cheap - but lasts a long time.
