FCM Contest

I don't know what happened today, but yesterday was great. I flew carrier and met with some scale and speed guys. Combat was also there and of course stunt.
Thanks to Allen Goeff and his crew for another great weekend.

Thanks a million for the scores post. The only way I can track our buddy Owen when he is on the road this time of year is through score post's like this. He won't be back until mid/late October, after hitting the Huntersville contest on the way back down the coast. Way to go Owen, nice win in Advanced!

Does anyone know which planes he was flying in Advanced & Classic? He took a few with him, I think his Avanti, a Time Machine variant & maybe a Shark 45 for classic. I see he was right behind John Simpson in classic, no easy feat.

Man, I better hurry up and start some serious practicing before he gets back....

I spoke with Owen this noon. He flew the 'Warrior' in Old Time; the 'Gypsy' in Classic; and the 'Avanti' in PAMPA Advanced.

He had his 'Gypsy' out this noon. He wanted me to fly it, but I needed to get back to work. Some other day I'll have that pleasure. He flys it quite nicely. On good days we (Alan, Owen and I) can usually get in 2 patterns each during lunch hour. Owen sometimes stays and puts in a few more. His practice has really paid off!

Thanks for the great info! You tell Owen Atta Boy from the gang. Wish there was a better way to get in touch with him in his motor coach. I've flown most all of Owens planes except the Warrior. The Avanti is his favorite, I know, but I flew his latest time machine, and it was killer. I liked it the best of the bunch so far. Funny thing was, that it was slated for a Saito 56, and last minute Owen went with his good old Double Star 60. I guess he's not going to campain that one yet, but lookout when he does. I was impressed. Owens Gypsy 46 is also one sweet flying plane too. Silhavy got that one right.

Tell Owen I'll go check next week and see if his home is still there! Yikes! Batten down the hatches, here comes Charley!!!!
