How about this?

When reading about the "good hobby shops" I got to wondering.....how about we compile a list of c/l friendly hobby shops and publish the list in the PAMPA Membership Manual? Not ads, but rather names, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses? I would be fairly simple to do, and might be a big help to all?

Might work, but then again it might be a can of worms. What happens when a good guy dosn't get mentioned and turns into a bad guy 'cause he gets pissed off?

Let the "ignored" good-guy use this as a "discovery site"! Please! There are two more-or-less local hobby shops around here. One carries C/L-usable stuff by accident (fuel, hardware, etc.); the other has some C/L stuff , but "Sullivan Line Connectors-Small @ $3.79 a pair" ?!?!?

I have to mail-order almost everything. And I'm NOT complaining about you folks from whom I order - I just wish I could drive 5 miles and get a can of Brodak Dope, or a set of Control Lines, or . . .

ralph i know what you mean we have to drive 3 hours one way to find c/l hobbie shop. we have 2 hobbie shops but they both cater to r/c. it sounds like peabody has a good idea if the good guy didnt get his name in the first time i bet he wont miss the second time,

You can put Penn Valley hobby shop on the list - probably the best C/l F/F and all round hobby shop I've ever seen. They even stock FF plans and have a minimum of 50 c/l kits available and a good assortment of OS-LA, Fox Norvel and Enya Super sport engiines they have ttpro 46 also - they just sold a custom models coyote kit on ebay. I've gotten both of my custom models kits there - too bad the custom models is no longer in business.
The second best and a close second is Virginia hobby sport just outside of Washington DC. Also has a good assortment of kits and engines. This guy is so honest he'll tell you to buy the OS engines from tower because he can't beat there prices (though he tries). I got a bunch of engine parts, line sliders and flap horn boxes and tongue mufflers there.
They both sell the dare line of hobby kits as well as RSM and Brodak.
