OZcover edges?

How do y'all smooth or feather the overlapped edges of OZcover?

It's better to hide the edges along or under an edge or with a trim stripe. I haven't found any better way and don't even think about feathering because the stuff won't sand. It's similar to other film coverings in this respect.

It's easy if you are painting it. I hit the edges with a couple of coats of spray-can auto primer, sand it with 600 and paint away. If done right, you can't see the line.

Bill Wilson and I did some tests. We found that hidding the edge was simply a matter of some kind of primer. I might even suggest the polyester dent filler, but Bill said primer would be better. I would probably just brsuh on some thick lacquer primer. The OZ Cover itself seems to need only a super light coat, no sanding is required or recomended anywhere but the edge.

I agree, but for simplicity and speed rattle can can't be beat. The reason I specified "sandable" is that there is what they can "Truck & Van" primer that is placticized and does not sand well at all. I suppose any snadable primer would work well but I KNOW the Duplicolor does.

Oz Cover requires only a light prime and the Duplicolor adheres extremely well. It will not peal, in must be scrapped or sanded to remove because the adhesion is so good. Of course you could use thinner but the point is adhesive strength.
