elevator clevis for ARF Nobler?

Ok, Everybody says don't use the OEM clevis supplied with the Top Flight ARF Nobler kit. What do you use? All the ones I've found (Du Bro or what ever) are too fat!

This will get some comments but the Gold Sullivan with the little clip keeper will work great on a 35 size ship. Be sure to put a jam nut on the threaded rod before screwing on the clevis and a drop of thread lock won't hurt.

RC Clevis' can fail in several ways, the threaded rod breaks, vibration wallows out the threads and the threads fail, the pin may come out of the control horn or break.

Use quality threaded rod, Sullivan clevis',a jam nut to lock the clevis to the threads and you reduce the risk of a failure by 100 fold.

I made a carbon fiber pushrod. The end which attached to the flap horn had the ball rod for adjustment, the other end (elevator) was non-adjustable and fashioned from 1/16" diameter piano wire and .030 piano wire (as a keeper). The end of the piano wire which went into the CF pushrod was wrapped with fine copper wire and soldered to increase its' diameter for a snug fit inside the CF tube. JB weld was used to hold it in place. Most difficult part was feeding everything down inside the fuselage and connecting/adjusting. A lot of fiddley work but results worthwhile.

I know You are going to catch heck over mentioning those Sullivan Golden Clevis's again, but I agree with you. If they are put on correctly, they are unlikely to fail. They are not run of the mill R/C clevises. They are shorter, thicker, stronger, and that little clip makes them very secure.
