A big thanks to the Lafayette Esquadrille for hosting a great contest. We had stunt heaven weather and flew OTS and Classic on Saturday and PAMPA on Sunday. My digital camera is broken or I would show you guys the hand made trophies for this year. I won a SpongeBob SquarePants trophy. Bob Arata was the CD and deserves a lot of the credit because he worked so hard both days running the contest and judging. Thanks guys.

Kudos to Bob and the rest of the hard working members of the Lafayette Esquadrille Club. They have kept improving the Broken Arrow for 17 years. May the event continue to so many more. Congratulations to the St. Louis club.

It was a great contest for all. Crist Rigotti flew some excellent flights to win the Advanced Class. Reportedly he took an oath to move on to the Expert Class. Congratulations, Crist! Larry L.

Too many airplanes - too little time.

Fred,
It'll be fun. I'm working on Russ Gifford to move up too. Wait till you see next year's airplane. Oh yeah! Stay tuned for details. Sure hope you get in lots of practice, you'll need it.

I couldn't make the contest but flying buddy Mike Schmitt went. He always take a bunch of great digital pictures at each contest. Hey Mikey, how about posting some pictures so I can see how much fun I missed?

Congratulations, Crist, on winning Advanced.

Are there any other results available? Usually Mike Schmitt had has been posting the results, but not this time.

Inquiring minds need to know.

Thanks,

Richard Ferrell

It is hard to have two contests so close on the same weekend. But, I have found a route to Tulsa that knocked 30 miles off the trip. We also had great weather, considering what I have been trying to practice in. Any details on the October meet in St Louis Buder Park. I have a lot of fun at their meets and Bob Arata is one of the best. Later, DOC

The diverse trophies were made by the club members and are the best array of trophies in the known universe, bar none. The black feather award for the best crash in competition has now not been awarded in four years. I think this speaks to the increas in skill of us all, from beginner right on up. Actually, I am just holding steady, which I regard as positive. I have placed fifth in OTS at my last four OTS comtests.

Let us not overlook Walt Brownell's electric stunter. His competition flight was the airplane's third flight. As a result, his pattern was not fantastic. However, the airplane flew all the maneuvers with authority, and with trimming and practice should be quite competitive. I was impressed!
