Here are some shots of the bottom of the aircraft.

EDIT: Carbon fiber lines the inner skin. and pipe floor to still be installed. Will post photo's later of that.

You might ask how I got the carbon fiber to lay down so smooth. What I did was first put wax paper on the mold buck. Then a layer of carbon fiber.While the wood was still wet coat it with Z-Poxy and mold over buck. Wrap with Ace bandage.Three days later a hard as a rock piece of molded balsa. Light too!

Pipe tunnel now complete and bottom skin can be glued on.

Edit: Something funny. Awhile back I started to use my girl freinds emory boards to shape. So she got mad tonight and off to WallGreens I went. Stopped at the beauty counter and asked clerk for E-Boards. I said cool I'll take the whole box. I wish you could have seen her face.

Hi Bob. I really think your building skills are great! Wish I could do as well. Is the H. stab ribbed and sheeted? Just curious. Is the T/E solid or sheeted? Love to see the finished paint work!

Yes it a sheeted stab.

Leading edge is molded and trailing edge is 1 inch wide X .077 and a 1/4 cap.

If you think his header is dirty, you should see mine. His is as clean as a whistle compared to mine. Really should clean it more often I think.

Is the molded parts 3/32 balsa or 1/8? And did you weight the parts before and after you put the carbon on?

3/32 and yes I weighed them. They picked up 5 grams the way I did them. I can live with that. The model has picked up 1 oz sinse yesterday. It's now at 28 OZ including wheels and pilot, canopie. skin now finished. I am detail sanding so covering will come as soon as I recive vail from Randy Smith.

Same setup as Bill. PA 61 3 chamber pipe.
