Jozeph Gabris's MASTER

Hi,
I have just drawn out full size a plan for the 'MASTER' by Jozeph Gabris. This was first (and I believe, only) published as a small three view in the Feb. 1959 Aeromodeller magazine reproduced from the Czech publication 'Letecky Modelar'. Gabris used it to win the 'Criterium of Aces' in Belgium in 1958. There is also a picture of him and the model at the Criterium in the 1958 Aeromodeller Annual. Outside of this I know of no other published material. I have managed to obtain a (grainy) colour photo taken at the Criterium which shows that the original colour scheme was white wings (possibly clear doped white tissue) and blue painted fuse and tail with white (or pale yellow) trim.

Does anyone know of, or have, any further information on this Classic Legal design?

The model is 55" span, with a constant chord flapped wing, upright engine, half canopy and turtle deck with fuse mounted landing gear. I intend to power it with an OS LA 46

There is a much later picture of Gabris in the Aeromodeller magazine with a developement - same wing and tail but with straight fuse and a bubble canopy - foreunner, I assume, to the 'Supermaster' which he used to win the world champs here in the UK in 67 .

The plan is to be featured in the next issue of 'Claptrap', the Newsletter of CLAPA.

I first saw this 3 view as a just turned fourteen year old building his first C/L model. After 46 years I hope to build it this winter!

I would contact Paul Winter of England who is a fantastic builder and has competed many times in the United States. He usually is in partnership with John Benzing, also of England. He has a really nice Supermaster, and has done an article on it's contruction in one of the British model mags. I actually read the article. Great building.

Master is older version of supermaster. So master is not so known. Jozef was world chapion with Supermaster and thus it was wery often used here - every one of us did super master at least once

that model was orriginally for MVVS 5.6A, so LA 46 could be too large, but if you will use full time 4c run it could be great.

As so often happens here, it seems that the topic has changed. This time from the MASTER to the SUPERMASTER.

It's fine, but I am interested in the MASTER myself.

My friend from Austrailia is correct, it seems that everyone and his brother has had a Supermaster.

Hiki's Supermaster at Brodak's had a Stalker in it.
