When do the new AMA rules go into effect from the last rule change cycle? Is there a way to find out if my proposal got the final aproval? Couldn't find any info about it on the AMA site.

I think the rules status was in a recent MA - but I can't recall which one.

Which proposal did you make? I don't recall yours.

I want to change the max tank size from 4 oz. to 1 oz. in control line endurance so we don't have to fly for 3 hours per attempt.

If I remember correctly, (CRS), the new cycle starts on January 1, 2005. So get your proposals in now. The current cycle ended on September 1, 2004. All have been printed in Model Aviation in past issues. I would have to dig to find them.

I believe the final votes are posted on AMA's website. It might take a little chasing around after you log in (yr AMA# is yr member password, I believe.)

Check under competitions, or possibly publications. The next rulebook should be going to print pretty soon...

Here in Arizona the new rulebooks have always been a nuisance. Years back, the legendary Buckeye Southwest Regionals always flew in January. In Tucson, we try to keep the CL part of that mammoth all-category traditional meet alive -- also in January. Historically, the rulebooks arrved later...

Don't hold me to it, but I think your 1 fl oz Endurance proposal made it. If so, and you track down the final vote tally, c'mon back here and let us all congratulate you.

Current rule book--the green one--covers 2002 to 2004. New rule books will, I believe, cover 2005 to 2007.

Rules proposals may be submitted between 1 January 2005 to 1 October 2005. AMA has the forms.

Just checked AMA's site. The *initial* vote is posted in a page you get from a drop-down in the Competitions area.

The full-wording listing of proposals is the second document listed. It has a heading paragraph that mentions the final vote will be in February.

We have a bit longer to wait... No help for Tucson's January 05 meet, is it? <g>
