Dick Fowler was injured today when the plane he was piloting crashed in a field in Berea Ohio. Actually it was only his pride that was injured. Dick was flying a profile Tanager with an OS LA .46 and during a series of outside loops he obtained a negative altitude. After replacing a large divot in the grassy field and gathering up the multiple sections of the Tanager, Dick was overheard questioning a religious deity as to the reason for his mishap. I believe his words were “Why me God?” Dick was later interviewed by this reporter and confessed to a “senior moment” as the cause for the mishap. It was ironic that moments before the tragic flight Dick had decided to call it quits for the day citing excess wind as the deciding factor. A close friend of Dicks, (Gary Tultz) chided him by pointing out that the “RagMan” didn’t seem to have any problem with the wind. This seemed to be a bitch slap to Dick and he immediately fueled the Tanager for “One more flight” . Dick has vowed to do some reconstructive surgery to the Tanager and expects to fly it again soon. Good luck Dick and remember “screw that one more flight crap”!

I think I drifted away (Senior Moment) and was contemplating the PAMPA by-laws when it happened.

Just wondering how many others of us had sometime changed our minds about that, "One Last Flight," and made it truer than we intended...

I know I've lost three or four (... or more) that way, and I did a lot of flying out of a stooge -- no one hassling or double-dog-daring me.

OBTW, I've heard that the answer to Dick's question is something like a great booming voice from somewhere above saying,"Because you tick me off!"

the problem is going for "one more flight". Never do that, just fly again. Then the plane/weather/engine don't know that it is the last flight, so they don't crash the plane. Works every time. Planes are not real smart, so they don't know it's the last flight, unless you tell 'em!!
