Where to get fuel

Hello all,
I'm in need of some expert advise on fuel for my fox 35's. I'm located in southeast Texas near Beaumont and I was hopeing someone close by could tell me where I can get some correct fuel for these engines. I've been using Byrons 10% nitro, 16% oil and adding 16 onces of castor to it. It's the only fuel I can get locally. Will the added castor in Byrons be ok(i don't know what the ratio of synt,to castor is), or should I try to get 100% castor. If so, where can I get some without going to Arkansas.

Powermaster fuel is made in Elgin,TX, over by Austin. Good stuff. It's the fuel most of our club runs. They sell 6 "GMA" mixes, according to their website. 5% or 10% Nitro with 25% or 29% all castor, and 5% or 10% nitro with 22% synthetic/castor oil (50-50). Some hobby shops in your area should carry Powermaster fuel, so all you have to do is get them to get some of the GMA all castor stuff for you. I'd go for the 10-25, if it's in the pipeline yet. The website says the 25% castor is "new", but commercial websites tend to be updated on rare occasions. http://www.powermasterfuels.com Steve

Have you checked with Don Still's shop in Beaumont? I believe it is called Happy Hobby Heaven, and is in downtown Beaumont. Don is a former stunt champ with his Stuka Stunt.

Yes Don Still has a shop in Beaumont and it's called Don Stills Hobby Haven. It's where I get all my stuff. I call it my walmart. He used to carry Fox fuel back in the early 90's, but now all he carries is Byrons. He has been a wealth of information and we still get to see him fly his remaining stuka everyonce in awhile. If adding castor to the Byrons fuel is ok for the foxes, I will continue untill I can find some all castor fuel.

From all that I have ever heard about Don, I think I would ask if he would order some GMA from Powermaster, if you haven't already.
He sure flew a lot of Foxes so I would think he would be more than willing to help. What does he use in his?

Hi Bill,
I'll call him tomorrow and see about the possibillity of getting GMA fuel. I think he uses the Bryon fuel and adds castor to it to get % correct. I know that when I add enough castor (16 OZS / gallon ) the plane looks like and feels like it used to when superfuel was used. Need to buy stock in paper towel company.
