Looking for a Discovery Retro 60 engine for PA model

I need a Discovery Retro 60 for my new project. I listed this on Classifieds and got two feed backs that they never heard of this engine. I had one in my hand while visiting Tom Morris last week.

I could have the name all wrong. Help me out anyone.

I cant help you with the Discovery but if you can use a Russian "Cyclon-61" I have one NIB and Unrun with the factory pipe. $200.00 and it's all yours. Its an amazing feat of modern machining. Just beautifull...!

You need to contact Yuri Yatsenko, he makes the engine. I ordered one from him at the FAI's and am expecting delivery late this month. Be prepared to wait.

Bigs, Thanks for the offer. I decline to accept, since I am not into piped engines. I had my fill of them in sixties and seventies flying speed. It was "Turkey today and feathers tomorrow" Never had a dependable setup. What a headache.

The cyclon is a muffeled engine. It has a muffeler that LOOKS like a pipe...

Do a google search and take a look. The companies combat engines are supposed to be real screamers and the casting and machine work is simply fabulous.

Has there ever been a review in SN?

Regarding "Bigs" question about a review on the Russian Cyclon 61 ever appearing in Stunt News, I will be visiting Tom Morris tomorrow and I will ask him and post his answer.

Yes I finally got your email.

Thanks for the information about the Discovery Retro 60. I have found several people who have one or more of this engine. Getting them to part with one is my problem.

With a truck load of UC Stunt engines, I can't justify spending a lot of money for another one, since the train-load is gathering dust.

I am slowly selling/trading off my shameful accumulation of Radio Control kits, radios, miscellaneous RC support equipment, ready to fly RC model, and the equivelant of a decent hobby shop.

Rich Peabody (oops I mentioned his name) told me that Bob Brookins (one heck of a nice person) has two of them. Unfortunately, Bob is recovering from major surgery on his neck and I can' bring myself to bother him about selling or trading one of his Retros.

If anyone wants to pick up some equity in model kits, engines, and assorted goodies in exchange for a new or like new Discovery REtro 60, contact me.
