Ready For Color (PHOTO'S)

I know I wasn't going to update this but I'm ready to paint and weather is too bad to. So I am starting new project while it clears up (soon I hope).

The reason the photo's look diffrent is I'm on my Super Computer making decals. Also if there is some kid out there who would like a model to put together of a 1/72 scale P47 bubble top made by TAMIYA. Let me know. It's plastic. Free to good home. Please be a kid not a big kid.
I needed it for the decals. What I am doing is scaling them up using Illustrator 10 and printing on decal paper.

NAPA Brand. The trick to primer is to sand it all off.

I'm just so awed by good work! Nice looking plane can't wait to see it finished.

Rob, I notice you put primer over everything, including the open bays. I'm guessing you mask off the canopy and just spray everything that looks like a model plane. Sanding the primer off the open bays has got to be a tricky business. Can't wait for those videos!!

I use the primer as a guide coat. Do not put much in open bays. Sand with 400 grit and then 600 grit. You sand up to but not touching wood cap strips. I use a rubber sanding block for stright areas. ( BLOCK BUSTER HT-1) Ultimate sanding block. No water yet.

After two coats of color it will get one coat of clear dope. The trim and ink lines. A sealer coat of clear dope goes next. Scuff with grey Scotch bright and then PPG Strato-Clear thinned with DT870. Hand sanded with 2000 grit and hand buffed.
