Anyone out there build one of these kits? Did the tank compartment seem a little small to you? How did you go about putting a bigger tank in? The only way I can see to do it is by going into the wing. Power for this one is ST 46 so how many ounces should I figure on? I was going to put a Atwood 51 Triumph in this plane but it won't fit. This kit was supposedly widened to fit the ST 60 but even that won't fit. Building a second one now and built the engine crutche first this time. Thanks for the advice on that Scott!

The plains show that you cut the leading edge and put in your 4.5 oz tank. Fiberglass the inside bottom of the compartment and you won't have any problems.

I put a 3 oz tank in mine which is about right for the OTS pattern with either a K&B or Tower 40.
Kit or scratch, I ALWAYS build the engine front end first. The maple bearers then can be drilled accurately on the drill press, T-nuts and engine installed: then, while engine is still bolted in, make the firewall to fit; add a former at the end of the engine mounts, and a tank floor onto the bearers. THEN, build the fuselage around this assembly! Works every time, and the motor WILL FIT when you are all done.
It ended up with the ST 46 for being a little to trusting. The box said that it was set up for the ST 60 so I didn't even think to check to see if it would fit. I got what I deserved. You could say it is turning out alright when I will now have 2 instead of one.
