Dual Landing Gear for Sig Skyray.

Does anyone know if Brodak sells a dual wheel landing gear that will work on tha Sig Skyray? I need specific information on your experiences in replacing the single wheel and where you obtained the gear. Also what did you use for wheels? Any input will be appreciated................T.Durrill

I think SIG sells pre-bent gear as is used in their kits. Might take a look, remembering that gear for an RC model might be just right.

Personally, I simply bend up landing gear from SIG blanks.

As to wheels, you don't want to know what I use...

Use the LG from the Brodak 38 Special , it fits the Flite Streak and Many other Profile planes. SEE YA NEAL

It that Brodak 38 Special landing gear a one piece of wire or two pieces of wire? I know is a two wheel gear, but the two piece gear is easier to attach to the plane......thanks.........T.Durrill

If you're looking specifically for wire, as opposed to aluminum, gear, the gear from a Twister or a Banshee (SIG part number SIGRPBM011) should work very well. Just remember to surround that gear type's into-the-fuselage legs with a piece of 5/32" brass or aluminum tubing, itself surrounded by a piece of 5/8" or larger dowel installed in the fuselage between, and flush with the outside of, the doublers. The dowel is not needed if the legs can be centered in one of the hardwood motor mount bearers.

Otherwise, just order the profile aluminum gear for the SIG Fazer (SIG Part number unknowwn). I've seen these hanging on hobby shop racks during my travels in the Lower 48.

I used the Sig Fazer gear with some lighting holes drilled in them. The gear held up well.

The 38 Special Gear is the Dural Alum. type two half's like the pictured FS. See YA NEAL:)

I thought the Brodak Lightning Streak (FliteStreak clone) came with a 2 wire setup. At least my version currently sports two wheels. I 'll try to check the plans at home tonight.

Get the SIG Fazer replacement gear from the SIG catalog. It's only about 7 bucks for the pair, and they will work great on most any .25 and up size ship.
