I flew today with a guy that has a Profile Sterling Ringmaster with a 6 ft wing span. When I first saw his airplane I noticed it has an OS Max 15 LA engine with a plastic clunk fuel tank and a very long wing span. He said the airplane was built from a Sterling Ringmaster kit. He made extra ribs and extended the wing tips out another 15" so it would have a wing span of 6 ft. He reshaped the tail so it looks like a small version of the large wing. The fuselage is shaped like a Lear Jet. The lead outs look like they are all the way back on the wing tip. The airplane seems to fly slow, I did not time it. I wish I had taken my camera. He had no problem doing loops, figure 8's, wing overs, and flying inverted. The guy says he use to scratch build but now he builds only kits because it allows him to build twice as many airplanes in the same amount of time. He had a note book with pictures of most of his airplanes. His 6' Ringmaster looks like a U-2 spy plane. This is a shape looking airplane. It makes me want to build a 6 ft Ringmaster. I already have 3 new airplanes under construction. I can't decided which one to finish first or if I should start another project.
