P 47 Base coat done (PHOTO'S)1 more today total 11

I was at school and I have a 2 day layover at home before I go to another one so I could not resist painting.

Base coat done all thats left is trim ink lines and weathering. Then I'll shoot the clear. The plane is coming out a little heavy but should fly alright at 58 OZ. As you see it here it's 55 OZ.

Lets hear what you think. I don't bite. Any comments?

Edit: Last photo before I go back to school. When I get back on the 29th I will finish the trim and do the weathering and ink lines. Decals will be added and the following monday I will shoot the clear.

Looking good....
Two questions:
1) It appears as if there is a bulkhead in front of the engine towards the top of the fuselage.....is that to channel air over the fins?
2) When you go to "Harley School", is it in a museum?

Just a school unless I go to Milwaukee they have a museum there.

The wing will easily carry 58 oz. Should fly great!

Robert,

I was reviewing a Bob Hunt video from his series on Robinsview and Bob McDonald at the 98 Brodak had a Billy Werwage derived P-47 that weighed 57 oz with a PA61. Sounds like you are right in the ballpark. Keep all of us informed on your progress.

Do you have any plans, drawings or demensions for this lovely creature?
I want to do an approximate 55", 40-46 size, profile P 47D and am having to come up with everything from 3 views, etc.

I thank you. As I sit in my hotel room tonight in Phoenix AZ. I look at Stunt news and the internet and wish I was back at home. I am here for four days and completion is in sight. Before I left today I was looking things over real close and have made some marks on the imperfections I want to fix. So when I return home I will do those first and then finish trim and Ink, decals. Atleast while I was on the airplane I got to time to fine tune my Decals.

I am watching so any questions just ask.
