NATS 2005

Hey Guys this will be my first NATS 2005 I was told by several people I need to make hotel resvertions know. Does anyone know what hotel everyone says at and maybe a phone number? I fly in Advance in local contest should I fly this at the NATS my adverage score is usually in the high 400s? Thnaks for the help.

If you fly in the high 400s and are still flying in Advanced at local contests, then Advanced might be your best place to fly at the Nats. If, however, you feel you are progressing and are ready to make the push, go for Open. There are many high 400 scores in the Open competition on Wednesday and Thursday. And don't feel that you have to be able to make the top 20 before moving to Open competition. There are many contestants flying Open who will never make the cut. For some, it is just a matter of "paying their dues", for they know that some day they will make it.

Oh, and most stay at the Signature Inn which is used as the PAMPA headquarters. The address and telephone number should be on the AMA site.

If you fly advance now, you should fly advance at the Nats. Most of the people I know stay at the Signature Inn. But, there are lower cost hotels. Like Days Inn and others. Contact AMA and they should send you info on motels/hotels plus Nats info when its ready. I don't know how Nats planning commitee has done so far. DOC

I can't help you with the category to fly in but I can make a suggestion regarding hotel reservations in Muncie. You might want to wait until the AMA planning meeting is overwith (I think it is being held this week-end). There will be an announcement regarding the hotel of choice, the dates of the upcoming NATS and all you will need to know about the event in the January/February issue of Stunt News.

The riff raff stays on the bad side of town...what used to be the RAMADA....and the Hill Top and some really awful place where Winfred holes up. The RAMADA has a pagoda / bunch of chair deal that makes evenings enjoyable...and the bar is usually open........ there is a listing on the AMA web site of hotels...all offer reduced rates to flyers.
