For Gordon Delaney Saito 82

Hi Gordon, What is the 411 on your Saito 82 so far. Myself and members of the 4 stroke forum want to know the "judgement" on the rebalanced 82. Windy just sent me a tape of himself in one the past Nat's top five Walker Flyoff with his Saito 91 powered Typhoon. According to Windy, and this is his words; "the Saito 91 was one of the smoothest engines of any type I have ever run." According to RC'ers, the Saito 91 is THEE smoothest 91 of any type of motor going. I have flown stunt at altitude in Denver Colorado many years ago, and what I found was that where you would normally use a Fox 35, you had to use a Fox 36x. Where you would normally use a OS Max 40, you had to use a ST46. You may want to consider a Saito 91 with a smaller venturi. That should give you every benefit in terms of power and significantly increased fuel draw.

You have no idea of the difficulty to retrofit a .91 into an airplane built for a .72.

I didn't mean for Gordon to retrofit. I mean't that in some future project of his, he may want to transtition to the 91 to get more power than the 72 at altitude and bypass the vibration problems of the 82.

I went to California 3 weeks ago for the Clovis Contest.I put several flights up on the Tony with the 82 in it.But,I could still fill to much vibration at the handle.I then put the saito 72 back in and flew it again with no vibration.So the 82 is going to need more work.I`m going to do more testing on it and get back to you.OK?
