Always open for suggestions. Not sure about using carbon fiber for the fuse, as I have had prvious problems with the tail section warping.

There are lots of hard ways, and there is an easy way, my way...

Lay the lightest glass cloth you can find on area to be stiffened. It can even be silk.

Drizzle thin CA all over. Push around with Q-tip. Sand edges to remove excess. Finish as desired.

An interesting addition to above is to very lightly spray 3M 77 Spray Adhesive on wood. Gives a light tack to it, handy when spreading glass cloth over surface, keeps it in position.

On a profile Cardinal I put on a couple light coats of Balsarite, then ironed on the CF. Then filled it with Nitrite Dope. It was strieght as an arrow for a few Months. I belive it started to warp as it sat in the Sun a few times.. The cheek cowl of this plane for anyone that has wondered I hollowed it to about 1/8th inch thickness.

Greg you can lose a lot of nose weight by carving the nose block to fit your spinner. This one is a 2 inch.

EDIT: Greg Yes, I understand. It may be to late at this time as you already hollowed it out but on the next one give it a try.

I suppose I could put a nose ring on also. I might sand through the sheek cowling if I really narrow it down for the spinner. I will mount the engine and spinner to decide.

Glass cloth is strong...and works very well with either CA or epoxy...the guy from Aerospace Composites laughs when he hears that dope is used....
Windy is of the opinion that silkspan adds more strength that the carbon veil because it shrinks and puts stuff into tension compression ..... I am happy as if I had sense with silkspan stuck down with water soluable polyurethane....especially as a base...very stiff and hard surface.

Be sure you use finishing resin. Z-Poxy or some type like it. Don't use regular epoxy hard to sand and it will load up the sand paper.

What I do is cut 1/2 oz glass cloth 1/2 inch bigger than needed. Spread a coat of resin all over and lay down cloth. Take a BONDO spreader and Wipe it all off with the spreader. Let dry. There won't be much left on if you did it right. Sand and then recoat. Be sure to use some kind of primer on it before you paint.
You can use lite CF with clear dope as well and it works good to seal the grain but offers Some but not much strength. IMO

Doug, Usually one at a time. You will have to quess on the plane. But I will use my favorite motor. OS .40 LA. I do have my arf Cardinal done. Will post photos later. Again congrats on your last event!
