Mr. Boyd in the "flesh & blood (virtually speaking of course) with a 1946 Stunt Wing he is restoring. He's a really nice guy.

It's high time to stop & smell the balsa.

That was a really wild paint scheme for '46...I hope somebody will post pics of it when it's finished. Was this a modified version of the DeBolt "Stuntwing"?

This was an original model designed by a gentleman from Winnipeg Manitoba (Canada) who has now passed away. It was powered by a Contestor .60 ignition engine. The engine was fully cowled and the bottom paint design was completely different from the top. The painting was all done freehand (no masking). Because of the severe wing sweep it has a complex control system with multiple bell cranks. The designer was obviously very creative and talented. The model did fly, apparently quite well in 1947. Here's a couple of more shots.
