I wanted to use 5% fuel on an Aero Tiger, as per: Randy..Soften the break, etc...I have been away from stunt a few years..Back when I was flying it was always Taffinder fuel or nothing.!!Windy then told me to go GMA in the late 90's.. However, when I went to the local hobby store to get a quick Gallon of 5% fuel to experiment with, all I saw was OMEGA 5%!!I am not cheap, and it was cheap..The pink color concerned me right away..I used it, and it worked well.What is the story w/that fuel--It says 1/2 castor 1/2 syn..It does not indicate how much total oil content?? Does anybody know?? Also, can you spray clear Aero Gloss over Brodak? It is just for a handle I made.I have some spray Aero Gloss...Just for history purposes-J. Casale would spray all his models W/Aero Gloss in the spray can. Interesting ha..His Columbia concours ship was sprayed W/Aero Gloss in the can...

I don't think Omega says it is 1/2 synthetic, and 1/2 castor, but instead says that it is a mix of the two--with unspecified %'s. I always thought that it only had ~a few % castor.

Of course the old memory may be wrong......

Omega has 70% syn /30% castor. Cool Power is 100% syn. Both are 17% oil. Info from the Morgan fuel web page.

Don't use that fuel in a stunt engine. The fuel has 14% oil content (oil by weight , balance by volume..whatever that means????)
I talked to Morgan about this a while back and told them I did boil down test on all their fuels , and the Omega and Cool Power were both 14% to 14.5% oil.
They said correct that was 18% by volume.
and Omega was ... 2% ... castor

I have looked at their site and it now says 17% total 70 syn 30 Castor...I guess this means the total by weight, which maybe down to 13% by volume

It is best to use a fuel that is a "known quanity.

That is too low for consistant runs

The pink color comes from the synthetic oil. Mine is dark red, so mixing it will give you a pink fuel, as nitro and methanol are basically clear. But that is not a fuel I would use for control line PA.

The synthetic oil is also clear,the red is a dye in the oil.
