Are we now governed by an NAA bureaucrat who knows *nothing* about *model* airplanes? As a FF and CL guy, this causes me some anxiety...

To answer your question: no. The Executive Director is a hired hand who is charged with the responsibility to carry out the directions of the AMA Executive Council. The EC, elected by the membership, DOES govern AMA.

And a question in return: what are your sources of apparent insight into the qualifications and background of Don Koranda? Apparently you have some very good ones since you are so EXTREMELY ADAMANT about them. Please let us all know so we can share your concerns.

No intent to disparage the gentleman's qualifications, sorry if you took it that way. I know nothing about him or his background, which was the point I was trying to make. I also did not know that a search for a new ED was underway, and was suprised to hear of the change "out of the blue".

This Lady was a real straight shooter and deserves our atta girl's! Joyce shouldn't have to move over if she really doesn't want to. As a long term member of AMA I really think that of all who preceeded her she set a standard not evidenced previously. Hope that there will be fitting tributes made in the MA pages next issue.
