What's the news on Pete?

Pete is getting quite poorly although his enthusiasm for playing continues undiminished. We have a band practice tonight and he is planning a concert for a couple of weeks time. Give him a bell on the number on the flyer - he is stuck unable to walk and would enjoy a chat

I garnered these photo's from the net for my own use (as a screensaver) when I was given some free webspace I decided to put them up - I have another 350 or so - I have 50mb of space and the 917 photo's take up 38mb - for some reason it won't allow me to put them all up - probably 'overheads' somewhere along the line - I've contacted BT about it.

The ownership of the models is long gone I'm afraid.

Best thing to do is post a link to the photo's your interested in here and ask who they belong to.

models0312 is a Flingle Bunt Designed by Stoo Holland and named after the hit song of the period. This one is a recent rendition built about 8 years ago. powered by a Rivers Silver Arrow - a .19 diesel a very powerful engine with a roller bearing crankshaft. The plan fo this model was free with Aeromodeller and I can provide a PDF version if anyone desires.
I used one when I first started flying combat seriously in the mid 60's and at the first comp was thoroughly thrashed by the designer in my first heat. He then gave me a lesson in how to improve my combat flying while we had fuel left.
This design was especially good in windy conditions and was very aerobatic. The Rivers is a bit heavy for it and my later Oliver powered versions were much more competitive.

My Bluepants built in 1992 and powered by an Oliver Tiger Mk4. I have flown it in a couple of oldtime stunt competitions and my best placing was 4th

The model was designed by Henry Stouffs and was used to win the Gold Trophy at the UK nationals of 1954. It is a really good flyer and capable of the full schedule (although the pilot isn't) The original was powered by an ED Racer 0.15 and the Oliver makes it a bit quick.

One model missing from the set is a Peacemaker - The one designed by George Aldrich for Aeromodeller. This one is a recent build and was built very light. It is a really nice plane to fly

Is that by chance a Rivers Silver Streak on the front?

On the Peacemaker it is one of my trusty Olivers. My Rivers Silver Arrow is on the front of my Flingle Bunt

Actually, it too looks very nice, and I was curious as to the design.

Tony The link works fine. I have always liked this group of pictures. I remember when you had then posted some time ago.On the first row are three of my planes.The USA-1 is now gone but the Saturn-Detroiter is now rebuilt.The Saturn with the very old Cobra behind it are both still around. The Saturn is a exact copy of Don Ogren's 1957 nats plane as I used it to build mine.

This is a great link! My computer is a "clunker", so it takes forever to load, but the wait is well worth it. A great source for "color scheme" ideas. It also demonstrates to a lonely "CL'er" that there are a lot of us out there. I'll be referring to this link as I attempt to build my Nobler. Thanks!!
