Stunt Engines

Just got off the ebay site. Don't know who jocombat is, but, I wonder if he did pay Randy Smith the $225.00 starting bid for a S.T. G-21 .46. It is item #5933040942 for those that might be interested. He also has about a dozen engines listed under his ID for sellers other items. DOC

If it was a new engine from Randy, with his rework, it was probably $225.

A NIB ST-46 recently sold on Ebay for some $250.00 so I'd say that the seller's asking price is realistic for that engine, no matter what he paid for the stock mill. If it was mine, I'd be looking for it to go higher.

Unfortunately, the seller dosn't say whether the engine has been run or not. It makes a big difference.

Several years ago, I sold a NIB Tiger-46, that Big Jim Greenaway had modified, via eBay for $300.00. The buyer was very happy, though I thought that it should have gone a bit higher. These days, with LJ down-for-the-count as an engine builder, who knows? I sure wish that I still had my ST-60s! Theyer getting a bit scarce as users OR collectors.

Remember: The collector segment of the hobby is growing every day and the smart guys are buying the remaining NIB Tigers and other classic engines at a faster and faster clip.

Do you remember about 10 years ago, when everyone was making fun of the guys buying up those black and gold Fox-35s at $100 each? They're trading in the $500 range these days!

Could not agree more, the prices being asked are very fair and are in line with current trends.

Weren't these some of the engines that someone posted recently here in the classified section....without any prices on them? This person didn't post any prices after Leonard nicely asked him to....

It is not the same person... The guy who listed stuff here without prices is my cousin and Leonard deleted the post after my cousin contacted him (with apologies) and requested that it be deleted.
Of course, there is a story behind why it was listed but that is my cousin's business. I will only say that I don't believe that there is any animosity between my cousin and the forum host...

I doubt that anyone thought that there was.
