I wonder if this is same man who was running World Engines of England in 1974. I went to his place in person and got all the parts I needed, still using them to this day.
Quite an inventory for a one man show.
While I was there he got a call on the tele:
Caller: "If I brought in a part, could you identify it and sell me one?"
WE of E; "I wager I could do that blindfolded".

BIGS
" What constitutes the dignity of a craft is that it creates a fellowship, that it binds men together and fashions for them a common language. For there is but one problem - the problem of human relations."

I had acquired a number of 'spare parts' over the years, thinking I was building up a cache I could use to keep mine going. I broached the possibility of building an engine from the spares and he indicated that unless I was randomly lucky, they would not all fit together to make an engine--despite being authentic ST parts for the same model.
All of that just as a caution to measure things and find out exactly which con rod you really need before buying one.
I'm to the point now that if I ever need one of my ST's serviced, rebuilt or fixed, I'm going to box it up and ship it to an expert on the type (Tom Lay in my case but there are others) and have him sort out the sordid details.

I do not think there is enough metal to rebush the rod, hence my need to try and obtain a new one, possibly a gudgeon pin as well.

Hi John,
Frank Bowman rebushed my ST 51 rod on the lower end. I suspect he could do a ST 60. And it was real reasonable. Try him at [email protected]
