SPINNER ....who sell this type spinner.

I bought an engine on ebay it came with a very nice plastic spinner. It is made different than the spinners sold at the hobby shop. The spinners from the hobby shop are made so the plastic spinner back goes on the engine first then the prop goes on next over the plastic back. The flat washer and hex nut goes on next. It is very hard to tighten the nut without the prop moving to the wrong place. If the prop moves a fraction of an inch the spinner can not be assembled.

The spinner that I got on ebay goes on the engine after the prop. The prop goes on first then the plastic back of the spinner goes on next. It holds the prop in place and it is impossible for the prop to move. The flat washer goes on next then the hex nut. The rest of the spinner goes on with 2 screws. This is the best spinner I have ever had who sells them???

Without the picture, it's a guess.
The ones at Hobby Lobby are similar to the ones the Hillcrest made in the 70's. They were a little more pointed.

YES.....that is it. This is a great spinner.

Actually these are very cheap and used mainly on RC models. I will do some research tomorrow (it is tonight here in the mother country and I am off to a band practice) and see if I can find a maker or source

That is a Sullivan spinner. Carl Goldberg spinners also mount the same way. The Sullivan has a screw on nose the CG has a snap on. Both are good spinners. I used the Sullivan on my Sea Furys and the CG on my Classic Bearcat. I will be using 25 year old Sullivans on my Critical Mass.

Mike, Noticed that you play bagpipes and like Bluegrass music. I'd like to hear that sometime! Most unusual.

I live in Kent (Ohio that is) and we have an older gentleman who lives across the street on the lake. In the summer, he stands on the shore around sunset and plays the bagpipe until the sun goes down (and the mosquitos come out). I don't have the slightest idea what the songs are, but the lilting sounds of the pipes are strangely soothing. Great way to end a day.

After the flying is over and the planes are crashed, put away, the soothing sounds of those infernal stringed instruments are the perfect way to end the day. And this started as a spinner thread! I've got an automatic color correction function on a simple photo editing program. Sometimes it does wonders. Sometimes it give things some ghastly colors. It did well this time.

The Bagpipes I play are a little different to the pipes that most people associate with the word Bagpipe. Mine are Northumbrian Smallpipes. Bellows blown, much quieter and with keys to give a bigger range pass me your snail mail and I will send you a sample of the sound.

I always called those "Irish Pipes". I took lessons when in college, circa 1958/59, then sold my learners chanter. Boy was that ever a fool thing to do. It was made with real silver and ebony wood. Had trouble getting proper reeds, until I found they were the same as oboe reeds. At least close enough.

As to blue Grass and some so called "hill billy" music, listen close to the fiddles and songs and you will hear the pipes in there. Almost all of the people that settled that part of the US were from Ireland or Scotland.

My mothers family are Scots and I have a dozen records of pipe music. It's in the blood. Also the Romans had bagpipes, only with two drones, vs three. The guy on the lake is probably playing "Donald Blue" for his last song.

Any tuned pipe sounds better than a four-stroke.

I wondered when that one would show up.

Gary,
Hobby Lobby has that spinner very cheap, price wise. It is held on by two self tapping screws like in the picture. They are very light.
They are the ones Bill Werwage used on his Geo XL.
