Silicone Engine Lube?

This question stems from the Magnum Bearings and Plain Bearing posts.

I haven’t yet tried this but thinking about moisture displacement got me wondering . . . Has anyone tried spray Silicone to lube/preserve after a run? Pros? Cons?

Couple of things come to mind. It doesn't offer much corrosion protection and the next start up will probably create problems for the glow plug element.

Silicone will migrate, no matter how carefully it is applied. Before long there will be silicone on the plane's finish. This will cause difficulties if you need to touch up the paint, re-finish or do a structural repair.

You will have major plug problems, don't ask.

Man, am I glad I asked this question. I was seriously close to giving it a try.
