Maybe forgotten?

The forum has lately been ablaze with all sorts of PAMPA related problems.

I do not fall into a "camp" except that I am a tradionalist when it comes to PAMPA. I voted for John and Dale. I do not believe that that should cause any "harm" to me, it was my choice. John had always shown me a desire to develope C/L and PAMPA when ever I conversed with him over the past 10 or so years. I would consider him and Buzz friends. I can like the person, but dislike their position. Not even completely sure what that position is now, though. If we are not inside John's head, we can't be certain. Only conjecture.

I know Dale real well, and like his views on this world of Stunt.
That said, I have always had very nice experiences with Ted, also. Even launched Trivial Pursuit at the NATS for a practice flight, so I do know Ted, and he knows who I am. I have no problems with those that have been elected, on a personal basis.
Never had much dealings with Keith, but he has "electronically" helped me on several occasions, and done so in a very humane and professional manner. And, his experiences in the world of CLPA is quite enviable.

What is really getting me tired of all this is the personal vendettas, and flaming that occurs betweeen the posters here. Rational conversations take place all too infrequently once a thread is started.

It's been several weeks that this "problem situation" has hijacked the forum. Stuka Stunt Control Line Forum is the name. It has become the "I don't like the 'problem du joir' that is affecting PAMPA Forum".

I get so much information when this forum is "on task" (Educational term), but lately there has been very little written to address toy airplanes (That is the impression the rest of the world full of "regular people" carries about our hobby of flying C/L).

I may be as guilty as the next party to a degree, so I appologise for any stink I have caused.

All the writing in the world, done here, will have very little effect on the general outcome other than to let the EC know how a small percentage feels about the current happenings.

It's gonna dry up around here except for the few that enjoy the "I'm right, you're wrong so let's fight over it" mindset can pose their points and leave it at that.

Point? This is really hurting PAMPA more than helping it. Those who fan the flames by personnaly attacking other posters ned a little lesson in maturity.
We need to allow our elected EC sort everything out and then live with the decision since that is what is expected in our Democratic society. The actual process is in place, our representation exists, we voted that representation into office, and we need to let them do the work.

HI Bill. Did you get the decals ok? As to saying things negative on line, I'm willing to bet that in a face to face meeting with friends, many of the folks sitting at their keyboard would think twice and realize they are venting some type of frustration, not real anger or conerns. I often times think of things here in my dark computer room that I would not say in person, because when said out loud they are just plain foolish and silly. God knows I can do enough of that in person. LOL So, guys, before venting on line, say it out loud and listen to yourselves, you just may tone it down or say, ah the heck with it, it isn't worth it. Go fly a plane or use this time to build one.

Ty, you brought up very good points. Even though I try hard not too,
sometimes the devil makes me do it. According to my shrink friend
there is a trend on the internet, for want of a better term that is
being called "keyboard bravery" and is growing rapidly, causing a fair
amount of problems,oftimes between friends.

Wow, the voice of reason.

In my line of work (and probably yours to an extent), you get people whose main concern and interest is agitation. No particular reason or point, just stir things up and instigate conflict for the entertainment value.

I suppose if we used our brains for a minute before we replied, we'd see that and let it pass.

As you note, we can disagree with someone's position and still be friends with them. That's what adults do.

Yeah, in a perfect world we could all get along, even when we disagree. (and all have a Walker Trophy! ).
Unfortunately we are all spread out over the USA, and world, and can only communicate through electronic means.
Wish there was a way for us all to get together, free of course, so that we could all see what each other is doing and catch some perfect air.

I have developed the thought, some years ago, that we are so few that we have to love all of us, including the SOB's.

One of the things true of fliers who travel to contests, we meet other people and make friends. We see posts by people we know, and meet people whom we have known only through their posts. This is an aspect of model aviation missed by the sport flier who flies at the local park or whereever on Sunday afternoon. The sport flier who is part of a club and helps put on contests gets some of the same return out of the deal. My appreciation, also.
