I've talked to several British flyers on the net and tried to research his whereabouts. No one seems to have any knowledge as to his current status. Is he deceased? The Brits say it has been years since anyone has had contact with him. Any of you guys privy to info? Thanks in advance if you have comments.

I last saw him at the '71 UK Nats. He went into motor racing. The brains and drive behind him was his father 'Pop' Warburton. For years afterwards, Pop would enter a contest and turn up with a model, hoping that Frank would show.
I just completed his U-2 and put an OS 40 LA into it. Pretty cool looking package, considering it is a jet design with a prop.

I built 4 Woodpeckers and also built the U-2 for VSC in 1997.
Was a great f;ying plane, but crashed a week before VSC. Engine quit going into the overheads. Plane was repaired and given to a local intermediate flyer who used it for a couple of years with great success.
Always liked Walburton's designs.

I appreciate you posting the pic of your plane. I will try to get mine put on the site before the week is over. What engine did you use in this plane? Tank size? I just finished having CAD plans done of this model and finished building it last week. All lazer work. There are still some tweeks in the fuse construction that will be corrected due to curvatures. My U-2 used an OS FP 40 and a 4.5 oz tank. If I remember right, it weighed around 45 oz.
