Ron B. Spitfire Parts list....

I have sent out a number of copies of Ron B. Spitfire to some of you.

Here is my problem. I am out of town and do not have access to my set of plans. I found a LHS where I can get nice balsa.
My hope is that someone will see this and send me a parts list.
I will be leaving tomorrow so I kind of need this today.
If you are reading this on Sunday it's to late.

Just buy all the nice balsa you see. You won't regret it.

wing 2 pieces 1/8 x 3 x 24" 6-8# balsa (see if you can get 48" length for two)

fuse 1/4 x 3 x 17 1/4" 6-8# balsa

tail is 3/32 balsa

stiffeners 1/8' square balsa

various doublers 1/32 ply

tripler, line guide 1/16 ply

doubler 1/16' balsa

motor mount 1/4 x 1/4 x2 1/2" maple

1/16" music wire

1 1/2" Goldberg spinner

3/4 oz. Perfect tank

1/8 x 1 x 1" lite ply bellcrank mount

1/2a belcrank and elevator horn

Sounds about right to me.

If you have a choice,"C" grain for wing and tail,"A" for the fuse, 6-8lb for everything.

This little hobby shop is about 25yrs old.
Not much c/l stuff, and very little r/c but had a old box of APC props. I found the little one's for the Norvel!!!
I think the bigger props were priced low.
1.99 for a 10x6 and 20% off of that.

Well with a little spare time we got another Spitfire put together.
Had to rob the engine and tank off the Stunt Chip. It is now retired.

We now have a RED Spitfire.

These were built from plans. Designed by Ron Burns. I can send you a copy if you want to build one.
Engine - Norvel .061
The plane will do the complete pattern, but we are still in the learning stages. We can do only inside and outside loops and figure 8's.
The Black one is a kick in the pants to fly so we built the red one.

Speedy builder you are. Very nice Spits.

I’m trying to get my boy more involved in the sport. He likes the building part but wants nothing to do with flying them. Go figure.

Spring is just around the corner!

Your kids build but won't fly, my son flies / crashes but doesn't build / repair. We need to get them together - a perfect team!

My son could learn that building is fun, yours could see that fying is the reward for working on building the plane. The harder you work at doing a good job building, the greater the reward in a great flying airplane.

Sounds good to me Bill! I think I scared the boy off with an un-muffled Fox 35 few years ago, He was five or six and did not like the loud sound and how much the airplane shook while he held it. What a surprise.

I’m trying not to push it too much. He does love to build though.

I’m jealous of this Rootbeard team.

Ryan is building his very own Buster. It is a SLOW build but he has done it all himself. He put a few more coats of clear on it last night, but that is his story to tell. It should be ready by the spring. Too cold to paint right now.

Chris be sure to bring your son out the the "Joe Connelly Fly In" this spring.
