1st post of the new T-Bolt (photos) 2 more pics

Well progress is moving along. Fuse and stab under way. The wing you see will not be used. I got too carried away with sanding OOPS. So This weekend I will build another.
I will set top and bottom skins on molds tomorrow for drying while I build a new wing. All the hardware has arrived today. Tom Morris does a wonderful job.

EDIT:

Please let me set the record straight. This plane has no plans to speak of . The wing is a lost foam wing from Bob Hunt. The wing comes with no plans. I have a set of drawings for the wing tips,stab,rudder,ele,and fuse. I was told when I got these drawings under no circumstances to let them out.

I would love to be able to claim that I drew this but I did not. So if drawings are to become available Billy will have to make them. Sorry.

This build is not for the beginner as you must make mold buck and templates. The bucks and templates are the hardest part of this build IMO. Not to say that some people couldn't build it but it is a difficult build.

Stats on this plane are 8.75 nose 17.5 tail although I know the were some built at 20. Too long for my likes. 4 inch bell crank with arrow shaft pushrods and ball links.All molded parts. Wood in this plane came from LoanStar. PA 61 or PA 65. Bill Lee prop. 3 chamber pipe at 17.25- 17.5 Fuel tank Purell Hand sanitizer bottle with clunk (so home made).
Target weight 56.5. Mine 58.25. Finish Poly-Span Sig dope,Clear PPG Strato Clear thinned with DT860. Total finish including covering 8 oz.

I just love airplanes that look like airplanes. Keep up the good work.

I've been forced out of the workshop for awhile due to health reasons, but all your project photos keep me feeling like I'm still there. It's great to watch you build....keep posting!!

I was racking my brain trying to figure out why your picture posts are so satisfying. (Lightbulb) our Mr. Storick is a shotmaker!! It is because your shots are so clear and the various angles you use are what we perceive to need. Shot making is critical to good visual information, and you are a good shot maker.
Bust a move on those videos!!

I can build between 5 and 7 full size planes a year when I'm on my game. This will be the 3rd one in six months (sinse july 5th) not including some other smaller planes.

The thing that takes the longest is cutting and sanding all the 150 wing parts. At least on this T-Bolt

I am surprised at the way the body is constructed .
Much easier ,simpler,Than I would have thought
Just another tribute to superior engineering.
I built two Sukhoi,s and used a board with formers and stringers
over which I wrapped 1/16 balsa ,front to rear and a second layer
of !/16 from front to trailing edge .to make a each half side.
The whole shell was then covered with .5 fiberglass.
Seventy flights later and not a little bitty stress crack yet
