Hello,
I want to thank all of you for making a returning U/C modeler welcome here. You have all given me great advice and it is just nice to see U/C is still going on. I went to a local hobby shop a while back and when I asked about U/C stuff, he looked at me like I had two heads. It has been some 35 years since I have done any U/C but I am looking forward to getting back to it. The only kit I have left from years ago is a Nobler kit I won in a building contest for an old magazine called American Modeler. The kit is signed by George Aldrich and the Fox 29 is signed by Duke Fox. That was the high point of my U/C days way back when.

Thanks again for helping me

David

David....Welcome!
If the Nobler / Fox .29 are NIB, keep them intact....they are worth something to collectors.
I think that the new kits available far exceed those that you grew up with in hardware , instructions and fit, and today's powerplants are superior, too.

See Ya

The signed Nobler kit and Fox motor could be the cneter piece of a "Shrine to OTS". Put them in a display case, bring them to the Vintage Stunt Champs and charge $1.00 to have a picture taken with them!

At the end of the weekend you could have enough $ to fund your revived C/L flying for the rest of the year!

Or you could post a picture here for everybody to admire.

Welcome back.

Hi David. Welcome back to "real flying". Lots of questions on here have answers in the archives. There are many true experts on here and a bunch of us amateurs, but we have much more recent tragic experience to share! Just keep asking and take a few with a grain of salt.

Hello,
I would love to take pictures of the kit and engine, however I don't have any way to do it other than my 35mm camera. I can tell all of you who have been nice enough to offer your thoughts, I would never sell either of them. I am hoping my grandson who actually is the one responsible for me flying again, will cheerish them as I have.
I was very sorry to hear that George has passed away. I got to see him fly in the 1960's at Willow Grove PA and he was great to watch. If I remember correctly he flew in the oposite rotation direction from normal.

Mr. Hill.

You stated - If I remember correctly he flew in the opposite rotation direction from normal.

Are you insinuating that flying CW is in anyway abnormal? What gives you the right to make such judgments? I find this to be prejudicially thinking and absolutely offensive. I demand that you immediately post for all to see your curriculum vitae as we need to ascertain your credibility regarding this matter and your qualifications to arriving at said opinions.

David - Just wanted to give you a great big SSWF welcome. You are now an "ohfishul Stuka Stunter"

Here we go again, clockwise versus counter clockwise. When I started flying I only knew of CCW. The club I found and joined was into Rat Racing and Combat. Nobody in the club flew CW. I didn't even notice it in the magazine at that time. The magazine: "Young Men Magazine" at the grocery store. I would read the mags while Mom was shopping. Of course the Young Men Magazine went home with me when I had the quarter. Later, -DOC:-)
