Air Brush for Dope products.

Hey Guys,
What is the best air brush to use with Brodak dope.

It's not so much a question of which airbrush(there are many to choose from) but a matter of thinning the dope to the right consistency for the application. For most all round work I think the Paasche model VL is a good work horse brush. The set is about $60.00 with everything you need to get going. Its made in the USA, in Chicago so parts are easy to get and inexpensive. I can't speak to the use of Brodak Dope or how to thin it for airbrush as I haven't used it yet. Still I thing it should be a straight forward deal with thinner/reducer and or some retarder added. Others may have more to offer. Hope this is helpful.

Second the Paasche recommendation.. Great airbrush for the money.. I usually thin about 50-50 and most of the time it works well. Have ran into 4 ounce bottles of Brodak dope that were much thicker and had to thin 25-75. It won't take long to get a feel for the right consistency.

I own and like my Paasche VL set very much. Just keep the paint thin and you will be good to go. Interesting aside, when a top automotive custom painter asked the late "Big Daddy Roth" what was the secret to his success, he replied "Paasche."
