I want to add a forum to the UHP website.

Does anyone know of a cheap (free would be good) forum software that would be compatible with Microsoft server? The forum that comes with Frontpage is a piece of junk.

There is a number of free forum programs.

If you have basic ASP and ms access capability( basically any ISP that offers Microsoft technology can do it) then you have the following choices of FREE forum software:

http://forum.snitz.com
http://www.webwizguide.info/forum/
http://www.asp-dev.com/

I listed them in the order of most favorite to least favorite.

If you have ASP.NET capbility, then you can go with the free forum software from ASP.NET:

http://www.communityserver.org/

If you really want to go fancy, try http://www.dotnetnuke.com and TTT forums.

Remember, you really only need two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape

I like the SNITZ forum very well. ASP lets you customize it until it's unrecognizable from anything else. That may be why Steve listed it first. Unfortunately, I don't see it used much. Then again, I still don't see IIS and ASP used much, either, and that's a shame. There are notable exceptions, but I see "php?" and "cgi?" (or even "pl?") much more than "asp?"

The hard part is the MYSQL Server. (Although it's not that hard as databases go, I kind of like it better than SQL Server, and I thought SQL Server was the best product Microsoft ever made.)
