Tool for bending landing gear wire?

Hi chaps,

I asked at my LHS for a tool to bend heavy guage piano wire for landing gear and they scratched their heads a bit and said they hadn't had anything in stock for a while.

What do you guys use to bend thick wire accurately? I use two sets of pliers, nearly kill myself every time and end up with very wobbly results. I'm sure there must be a better way!
