Hello everyone:

Check out eBay item #455550100. This was the first control line plane I ever had -- received it for a birthday present when I was about 7 years old. Struggled trying to get the engine to run until I cried. Dad was away on assignment so couldn't help. Never did get to fly that thing (if it would have flown). If you would have told me then it would sell for this much someday . . .

Back in the early 70's a kid a little younger than I who lived on the same block had one of these. We actually got it in the air a few times. If I remember correctly only half the V tail was hinged for an elevator. Somewhere I've got a photo of it in flight taken with an old Kodak instamatic from the center of the circle. I'm sure we probably had it on pretty short lines, probably about 20 foot.

The landing gear looks like some odd sort of grasshopper or maybe a Katydid. Long-legged beastie (expensive, yes, $150 with over four more days to the end of the auction).

BTW, this item went for $267.55. (!!!)
