Although I had packed a couple of Speed-Limit planes, and saw some folks interested in it (Jim & Jason Duda from Austin, & Rolando Riguera from {Dallas?}, I think), those planes stayed in the trunk of the car! Not that I didn't think the wind would be too much, just that no one flew in the rain, including me, and then only the die-hard types, who already know whether or not they want to try Speed Limit Combat, were still there on Sunday when it was just the cold & wind to deal with.
It's quite unusual to have that much chill in the air this early in the year that close to the Gulf of Mexico. I read the various weather reports and figured I'd stay under cover in the rain, but didn't read anywhere how gusty the winds might become, thus the poor packing (plus the fact that my wardrobe hasn't really caught up to the change in my shape that followed quitting cigarets by about a year .. )
So, since Jeff hit his third loss about lunch time, I decided to leave about 3 pm, before the final rounds. Richard was supposed to phone Jeff with the results last night (Jeff stayed another hour, with a stopwatch in his hand), but I never heard the phone ring and he got away early today. Anyone reading this have results?
