Fermi Stunt results

Something I'm happy to see in the scores: It looks like the top 3 winners in the intermediate, advanced and expert all line up without overlapping scores. Kind of a nice thing to see. Shows the skill classes working as they should.

Before yesterdays contest, the last Fermi Stunt contest held was on July 7, 2002. It was only the second stunt contest that I'd ever flown in. I flew a SIG Banshee and scored 243 points to win the Beginner class by just 0.5 points over 2nd place. Three years later I entered the current Fermi Stunt contest in the Expert class. It was my first contest flying as an Expert. Alan had a lynching rope hung from a tree just in case I might renig on my promise to "move up", made at last weeks SIG contest, and attempt to enter Advanced . Flying the ole reliable "pukie profile" Pathfinder, I managed to not embarass myself and placed 4th out of 7 expert entrants with a 502.5 (my heartfelt thanks to the most generous judges ).
OK Alan, time to get out your ARF P-40 (or finish your Pathfinder) and start practicing for the Rockford contest in August. We're waiting to see that 500 point flight we know you're capable of flying. Besides, you need to move up too so we can keep flying against one another .

He practices a lot, in all conditions, and it really shows.

Owen had a pretty good smile--beating a very good up-and-coming young whipper-snapper, and placing within a few points of #1.

A big thanks for a wonderful contest. Mike was so proud of that trophy, he was showing it to strangers. Glad to see you got a pic of Grace actually smiling-mine never seem to come out that good.... Looking forward to the next time around.

As everyone can see from the photos, we are in the middle of a pretty good drought. We are usually pretty green this time of the year in the Chicago area!

Just wait, the rain if it keeps moving to the northeast it will be there. Also see that one of the best lady judges in the country has gotten rid of the plaster leg. Good looking site and good looking planes. --DOC Holliday
