Here is the problem. Got back from a swap meet where I got for a song. A full kit green box Nobler,the Gieske(TopFlight)Nobler in a box and a Sterling Ringmater in the wrapper. Are these kits rare enough to keep them in there packages? Or just go ahead and build and fly them? Advice would help. Thanks Steve

The Green Box Nobler is definitely a collector's box. The wood generally is a bit heavier than it should be and the hardware is weak. These kits will often times bring more than the list price on the Brodak Nobler or similar models. The Gieseke Nobler is a "your call". Hardware is still weak, wood might be better, might not. But it is a more modernized design. Still, these are going up in collector's circles, also. What shape are the boxes in and are the contents untouched? All these are questions to be factored in.

I'ld build the Gieske, sell the green box to some demented collector and use the proceeds for glue 'n stuff and burn the Ring for heat.

The Top Flight Gieske Nobler kit you have, is
one of the best kit planes of its time.
The Manufactured C/L Stunt kits of today can't hold
a candel to Top Flight quality.
I would build the Nobler, install a Fox 40BB, run 20% nitro,
and enjoy!

#4 sourceIf it were me, I would make templates from the original Kit. Buy some good quality wood, and build from the templates. Then, you would have the best of both worlds. Good Luck!

Steve, the discussion here is fine as you are asking opinions. If you are now offering these kits for sale, then, yes, move that to classifieds.
And I hope you enjoy whatever you choose to build. You, after all, are the one who has to make the final decision.

None of the three kits is especially rare, but all three are "collectible", in the sense that there are a rather large number of people wanting the kits, and there is a relatively small supply of them. In other words, a supply/demand mismatch.
You can sell the kit(s) and rest assured that you can find another without too much looking, if you later decide to do so.
So, let's get right down to the shorthairs and discuss price. (Money doesn't just talk, it screams). Ebay prices, in fact, because that is what you can get. (Like it or not, guys, this is the reality).
Recent ebay trends; don't shoot me if I am a little off on these numbers:
Green Box Nobler $75-125 (the latter for a undisturbed one in a pristine box)
Gieske: Add about $25 to above
Ringmaster: Don't know what box it is in, or if it is the S1 or S1A. If it is in the early box, with Matt Kania's picture, you could get around $75-85. This could be the rarest of the three.
I'd say: Sell 'em, or build 'em yourself.
