I saw a t.v program about modle planes and they were very good.I have grown a liking to them especially the big ones and I would like if you could email me if you have any information on how to build one.

There's definitely no shortage of model building expertise available from the regulars at this site, but your question is so broad it would be better handled by a good book or instructional video. Any recommendations fellers?

If the TV program you are talking about is ModelMania then what you saw were probably large Radio Controlled planes.
I watched it myself last night on Discovery Wings.

We do a completely different type of model here and they are not very large. You might do better asking in the forums at www.rconline.com or www.rcwatch.com (this one is run by an Irishman). But no-one is going to recommend a very large scale model for your very first model.

If Steve was not correct, and if what you are interested in are control line planes, you might want to get a copy of "Building and Flying Control Line Model Aircraft" published by Carstens Publications (call 800-474-6995 to order). This is anything but an exhaustive treatise on the subject, but it will give you some idea about what is involved in a control line plane.
To get a broad feel about what the whole range of model aircraft is, go to your local hobby shop and pick up a copy of "Flying Models" magazine. That will inspire you to try about 17 different things at once.
