Wow, just got back from my first flying session since August last summer. I've been so busy and tied up, no time to fly. Flew 4 pretty fair patterns with the now aged Gladiator and it felt great. Only problem, 4 flight and my shoulder is killing me! Look out MI. guys (ha ha!!) I'll be at Rouge on the 20th.

When I was flying my (late) "Lancer" (???...at least 4th hand) with DS .60bb, I found that if I let my arm hang loose...i.e., let the tendons take the load of the airplane...my shoulder would hurt. If I flew with my elbow bent enough to make my bicep take the load, my bicep didn't hurt and neither did my shoulder. I never had this 'problem' with my .46LA powered "Humongus", and this was my first .60 stunter. I liked it just fine, other than the shoulder thing. And the crash thing. Steve

Hi Steve,

My problem is arthritis, I hold the same way and keep my hand in front of me. Its lifting the arm that does me in. I'll just have to take my Alieve right before I fly.

Randy, Arthritis is such a pain. It preclude me from ever flying a 60 size C/L with any regularity. As they say " getting old ain't for sissies"

Perhaps so...and it sure beats the alternative!

Yep...Also at the field yesterday first thing and found several others there as well for the 8AM sortie. I debated about going back out later but didn't.

Talk about sore arm, I had a dirt in needleissue with the PA65 and endured a run of about 9 minutes at 4.0 sec/laps! My hand went numb!

Just another reason to build em lighter I guess!

Hopefully the circles at Rouge are smooth enough to fly tyhe A planes.

Frank Carlisle
proud member of R.C.C.D.

We'll be flying on the concrete circle Curt.
As per all this talk about arthritis and getting old..........I've been in denial about getting old and am paying the price. All winter long I've entertained a low grade fever and a cold that turned itself into walking pneumonia. THE CAUSE? Flying in the cold since ......well for two years now, I've been going out every time the sun shines. Whether it's January or June. And I've been really sick.
From now on I'm going to stay indoors and build during the winter.
