Claire Sieverling's E-Mail?

Can anyone advise on Claire Sieverling's current e-mail? I want to ask him a question about the straight-back bubble canopy version of the Sun Devil pictured in the FM construction article for the airplane. The bubble canopy fuselage, however, is not shown on the plans. I am curious if the moments and areas are the same for both versions; and the only difference being the rear configuration of the fuselage. The other aspect of this model is the inverted motor which did indeed find its way onto the construction plans.

This plane has been on my wannabuild list for a while. One item to be noted on the plan is there are two rudders shown. The longer one is for the bubble fuselage known as the Sun Devil II and other featured on the plan for the Sun Devil IV. I have the original Flying Models article on it. The Sun Devil II had stringers running down the back of the fuse also. Send me your address and I'll mail you a copy of the article. Richard.

Claire Sieverling visited with us at VSC-18. He expressed surprise that so many people were still interested in his designs.

I'm not sure if he has e-mail, but if you dial 411 and ask for Phoenix, AZ info, you can probably get his phone number. He's in the book; I just don't happen to have it.

If memory serves, Lou Crane, who frequents this forum, built one of these back in the very early days of VSC. He probably has plans.
However as Uncle Mikey has said it shouldn't be difficult to contact Claire. I think he still flys some free flight and RC...

Not sure if Lou C. ever built a Sun Devil, but know for certain that he built Clair's "El Conquistador" design, flying it at the first VSC in 1989. Two years later I had the dubious "honor" of being the one who destroyed it after flaming-out in the Overheads and failing to run backward fast enough. It's bad enough when we wreck our own models, but there is no feeling on Earth like the one we get when creaming someone else's.

Hey, crashing someone else's airplane may feel bad...but let's face it, it's worse when it's your own that you crash. The trick is just not to let anyone else know that you don't feel as bad!!!
