Prop Question ???

I received my Tower order and instead of the 6pac of APC 10-6 props I was sent a 6pac of Master Air Screw 10-7's. I called Tower and they are sending out the APC's tomarrow. Question, What do I use the 10-7's on, or is there a reason they told me to keep them???? Thanks

I've run into something similar from TOWER before, once or twice.

It largely involves customer satisfaction - not requiring you to go to the nuisance effort of returning the erroneous item/s. Probably also part of it is the nuisance to them of restocking the item.

As with your prop order, the total value, on orders where this happened to me, is not really big, so it fits both thoughts about why.

What to use the MA props for? Check around. They might interest some RC fliers???

10"x7" Master airscrews work fairly well on .45 and .50s for RC use.

I have a piece of Lional track on my shop wall from the same source. Tower sent it instead of the glow plugs I ordered. Said to just keep it. Not sure how you mistake a piece of railroad track for a glow plug, but there it is. Proabably similar or transposed item numbers. Tower was very gracious about it.

Probably, because the return shipping costs a lot more than the props cost them to get, wholesale.

OS FS .40 four stroke likes'em well enough. BUT...not well enough to buy an engine and build a plane for some free props, though I've been known to do daffy'er things myself

Check the pitch on a guage. It will probably be around 5-5.5 on the back of the blade. The 7 refers to the blade airfoil angle of attack. Try them on a plane and see how they fly. If they go too fast, repitch the blades with a heat gun to whatever pitch suits. Heat the root of the blade for a few seconds on each side until it gets too hot to hold, twist the blade and check the pitch at the middle of the blade. Then heat the middle and repitch the tip to match.

Check the pitch at the 9" diameter, they might make a nice wide blade 9-6 if you cut them down.
