eyelets 0.008 lines

Now for something quite different . Is there a reliable way of making line terminals on 0.008 lines ? I lack the swaging tool (pliers?) for such small sizes. I therefore do not trust my self in using the Brodak issued stuff that comes with the lines. On this forum many warning have been given about the fragility and tediousness of 0.008 lines. The search function has not yielded anything yet.Any suggestion welcome.

I wrapped 'em with copper wire. Freehand.

If I ever do it again, I'll make one of those fixtures that clamps down on the lines holds the eyelet.

Most likely, just play it safe and use .012".

Wrapping the ends of 008's is not hard if you use a wrapping wire finer than 008, and have some kind of fixture to do it in. I have used the aluminum tubes that come with Sig wire in the past with no problem. I used round nose pliers and made three careful crimps. When crimping, I worry about damaging the wire, so I emphasize the careful. These days I wrap them.

I know it's not AMA legal but I use Spider Wire fishing line. But I have had luck with SIG Alu tubes with a little epoxy in them befor I crimp them. Just a little insurance.

OK OK, I played it safe . I happened to have a reel of Pylon Brand 0.012 lying around ( since 1977 ). So I studied al my tools and used the crimping pliers for small size electrical appliances. I did practice wrapping as well. Then I got too zealous and started to un wrap the Brodak 0.008 lines. Immediately they jammed because loops of wire were wrapped "cross wise". So enough crinkles to throw away the stuff!
A lesson learnt and a wiser and sadder person now writes this.
Thanks for your help though, I now have at least one set 0.012!

On a related topic: I've been surfing the McMaster Carr website looking for suitable 0.008" wire (for 1/2 A stuff) to buy in bulk. Does Mickey Carr offer an appropriate 0.008" wire (stock #?), and if not, who does?
