Or is it the links between South Texas and Indiana that are at fault? From my direction, everything from here loads so slowly it's worse than slow-motion movie stuff.

But if the server needs a reboot, maybe it's also a good time to correct the system's odd 2 hour and 45 minute leap ahead of the usual daylight savings time (Isn't Indiana also supposed to be CDST?)

This added as an edit: my message here has an "11:16 am" time stamp. But it was 8:30 when I actually posted it.

I am not loading slow, but it doesn't mean there isn't something wrong. I am leasing space on a server so I am as remote as you are, but the time definitely is off (again). They probably did something to the server--might have even moved me to a different one. They upgraded me a while back and may have done it again. That could account for some slowness and, also the messed up time. I will e-mail them and correct that.

We are on Easter Standard time, by the way. We don't play with God's time as some states do (or is it we are just lazy and don't want to reset all of our clocks?)

I will get it corrected.

Adding to the complaint, out here in Virginia, your guy is real slow also. I checked pgatour.com, and it looked normal, so it is not a general AOL problem.

Everything checked out and they got the server's time reset. Now we can rest easy knowing that our posting times are correct, again. (I hate it when I post something yesterday tomorrow.)

In Dallas area it runs at less than 1-2K per sec. Must be a problem somwhere between there and here.

They checked it at the server end and things checked out normal. Maybe there is a bottleneck problem on the internet.

Let me know if you see any persistent problem. I want to know, and if there is a problem at this end, we will get it corrected.

Well, as of today, and starting from about 2 pm or so, the snail behavior is back, and it's more pronounced by far this time than it was before. Just getting the page that this old thread is on took over 24 minutes. The download kept stalling. Nothing at all was coming down for minutes at a time at the 2%, 12%, 64% and 82% complete marks.

Getting it to download this reply page took 8 minutes, during which the speed was 40-50 bytes a second average (because of the stalling). It's my expectation that this behavior is general all across the linkages because there have been no new messages or replies added since 4 pm EST (it's 1 am EST right this moment, even if I think it's 12 midnight because I'm CST).

Kiwi, It's 8:30 am on the 19th of dec and I finally got on the forum after waiting 9 minutes to get here. It was fine yesterday morning, I ran into the problem last nite and seems to still be with us

Somewhere between 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. last night it went down. I was told "It appears to be an issue with the Network bandwidth." and that they were working on it. It should not happen, and I asked, "Why?" It is slow this morning, but running again. Still not right. It should not happen. It WILL NOT repeatedly happen. If there are recurrences of these types of problems I will move the site to a different provider. I intend for it to be up 100% of the time without me monitoring to see that it is.

This forum is among the fastest I connect to from here in Michigan also. We're on a pair of isdn lines through flash.net.

If its not up on my screen in two seconds, I hit stop and try again--usually works. the only one that appears slow at its source (host) is bigwig--Isky's. RCO has been excellent since the latest upgrade and Phil browns and rcwatch are always ok.

They got the problem corrected this morning and it is zinging along, again, now. They were "working upstream on some network problems."
