Well, the balloon didn't treat my little balloon bust airplane too nicely....But it managed to get at least one and gave me a third place!

In a good balloon bust, you do it inverted.

rolmao You might want to think about a slightly larger airplane next time. Something that has more wood than the stick that holds the balloon up.

#3 sourceMy best results in Baloon Bust were with an old rat racer with a K&B 40. I put trike gear on it with 3" wheels and used an 11" prop. It would cruse along 6" above the baloons and when you wanted to pop one you gave it full down followed by full up. Even if you hit the ground it would bounce back in the air with the large wheels and trike gear.

Heheheh... There was this flying festival (RC) I attended a couple years back. They thought they'd have balloon bust, so they tied some helium balloons on strings to a rope stretched out across the runway, and let the fliers at it.

And then the .. wind .. started .. to .. blow.
That was fun, watching the RC fliers trying to get at balloons lying flat on the ground. Crashes galore, including one that got strained through a small tree on the other side of the runway. Fuselage came out the other side. Finally, someone figured out the best thing to do was land, and taxi over to where the balloons were...
