Fox 19 Prop Question

I heard that Fox 19 prop shafts are too small diameter for most shaft holes in new propellors these days. Does anyone have any recommendations for props for this engine?

I make an aluminum bushing to correct the problem. I also do this for spinners.

I've seen some Fox 19's with 10-32 prop shafts. The 1/4" propellers need a sleeve to center them. All of my Fox 19's have 1/4-28, so no problem.

Another simple and available way to 'center' oversize props:

Force a short piece of large silicone fuel tubing, cut to the length of the hole through the prop, in the oversized hole.

It shouldn't matter if the tubing is just a slight bit longer than the hole through the prop, but make the cut through the fuel tube square in any case.

Thread the prop onto the shaft. Working it down the threads centers things nicely. While you tighten the propnut, the fuel tubing will be able to slip just enough to allow you to place the prop where you want it for starting.

The earliest Fox 19's with the removeable venturi had a shaft that was threaded the same as the Fox 15X. Fox changed that later to the standard 1/4" shaft. What works real well (I have 2 of them) if you have a friend that is an instrument technician, have him give you a couple inches of stainless steel 1/4" OD instrument tubing.
