Larry Cunningham update

I spoke with Larry about 7 PM ET this evening and he really sounded great. He's very upbeat about his progress. On Thursday, June 15, he'll have an operation on his foot, and then he hopes to be home sometime next week, perhaps even Monday. He will need to stay off his foot for several months as he recuperates.

Larry asked me to pass on his thanks for all the calls, cards, and well wishes he has been receiving. He is looking forward to getting back on the internet in a couple of weeks and posting his very own thank you.

Great news! Good to hear he is doing better and going home.

Thanks for the update. You reminded me that I needed to call Larry. I did that just now. He sounded great. It was a huge relief to hear his voice so chipper after the last time I talked to him.

Larry said they'll be doing an ankle fusion tomorrow. Surgery should take about an hour and a half. It will leave him with an ankle that won't bend but he'll be able to walk on it.

The staph infection is under control. He's still on antibiotics as a precaution.

He said he hopes to be home on Monday. He asked me several times to convey his thanks to all who have called. He said having friends who care enough to call means the world to him.

I'm also supposed to say that he's back to his "dirty joke" phase. Since he didn't tell me any dirty jokes I'm not sure what that means but I have a hunch some of you might.

Yes, Larry is doing well, I just spoke to him myself. He's looking forward to getting beyond tomorrow's operation and getting into the recuperating process. With a bone fusion he must be very careful not to put any weight on the affected leg.

I know he was delighted to hear from you again, and he treasurer's your kindness and encouraging well wishes.
